The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy (42/5)

I know you are waiting for my opinion about The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy, the movie. So here it is.
Since this was a preview, there were people in bathing gowns, and on ever chair in the cinema there was a towel.
A towel… is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitch hiker can have.

OK, you can see that this isn’t a mega million science fiction film, but despite that, it has a lot of beautiful special effects, especially throughout the end. But this film doesn’t really need the funky effect, because the story is so crazy, original and funny, and is filled with hilarious moments, that you don’t have the time to realize that the special effects aren’t there.
Marvin and the voice of Alan Rickman is very funny, and so are the sighing doors in the spaceship, the whale, the Vogons are fantastic (Jim Henson), and Ford and Slartibartfast are extremely cool in this film. Arthur Dent is British enough in this one, and , well you better go and see it for yourself.
The film has this typical British touch, but that only makes it better. It is rather close to the book if you ask me, and I recommend you to read the book up front (it is only 150 pages). It is good to be prepared, because a lot of the somewhat weirdish names and places are all over the place in the film.
The stars : Slartibartfast (6), Marvin (5), Ford Prefect (4), Arthur Dent(4), Zaphod Beeblebrox(3), Trillian (3), The Vogons (5), Deep Thought (4), The Mice (4), The Dolpins (4).
Which adds up to a total of : 42 - Oh my god …

Heb ‘m hier gisteren in KBH gezien en helaas geen mensen in badjassen of handdoeken hier. Wel een originele film, die ook prima te pruimen is zonder het boek gelezen te hebben. Ook mooi meegenomen: nu weet ik wie Bill Nighy is !

Ja Sjakie dat is waarschijnlijk ook het beste aan de hele film, dat je dat nu weet :-)
Ik zag de film in een van de bioscopen van Nordisk Film, en die hadden netjes voor iedereen een handdoek neergelegd. De zaal zat trouwens vol med Hitchhikers nerds, dat kon je merken.

@Ejee : hoe wist je nou dat ik naar een Hitchhiker t-shirt op zoek was ? (Dat ben ik namelijk echt, maar er is bijna nergens echte merchandise te vinden, geen t-shirts in ieder geval)
Ik heb er van de week een op eBay gekocht, met het logo van de film. Maar ik ben nog op zoek naar andere t-shirts ook. Deze “42″ versie vind ik net iets te simpel…
En ik wil er natuurlijk ook een met Slartibartfart !

Dat weet ik nu voor 100% zeker … Of ik ben zo voorspelbaar als het weer.

De beste weersvoorspelling is nog altijd dat het over een paar uur ongeveer zo zal zijn als nu. Alle ingewikkelde computermodellen ten spijt komen we niet veel verder dan dat qua voorspelling van het weer.
Voor mensen geldt dat niet. Een mens kan over enkele minuten al totaal anders doen dan nu. En dan zeggen we nog dat we dat zijn ook: “ik ben boos”, “ik ben verdrietig”, “ik ben geirriteerd”, “ik ben vandaag zo vrolijk, zo vrolijk, zo vrolijk, zo vrolijk was ik nog nooit”, “ik ben op zoek naar een t-shirt”. Terwijl wat we zijn misschien wel alleen het losse omhulsel is van die veelvoud aan wisselende verschijnselen.

Oh my - ik ben het spoor nu alweer bijster geloof. Maar “ik ben op zoek naar een t-shirt” daar kan ik me wel mee identificeren ;-)

Die kende ik wel, maar ik vind 10 dollar verzendkosten voor een 25 dollar t-shirt op de een of andere manier scheef. D The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy Navy Logo Babydoll is wel cool, maar Ships in 4-7 weeks ! Ik en geduld, dat gaat niet samen.

Ik vond het tegenvallen als die-hard HHGTGG fan. Als je de boeken niet kent is het best een onderhoudende en leuke film, maar voor de echte fans van de boeken moet het wel een aardige tegenvaller zijn. Het acteerwerk was matig en ik miste veel van de humor uit de boeken, die waarschijnlijk ook moeilijk naar het doek te vertalen is. Ik vidn het geen flutfilm, maar mijn verwachtingen waren redelijk hooggespannen.
