Easter in the snow

Easter in the snow

This blog has been neglected pretty badly lately. I will try to get back to the normal update frequency (whatever that is) asap. And yes I do feel quite a bit better, thank you. Back at work now, and it feels like I haven’t been there for 6 months. Don’t know if that is good or bad.

I just returned from a couple of days in the Netherlands where it was quite cold, and also quite white as you can see. It was snowing enough to get de-iced on my way back to the UK. But I love snow, so I didn’t really mind.

I mostly chilled (also literally) but managed to read a book: Saturday by Ian McEwan. Ian McEwan also wrote Enduring Love (made into a film with Daniel Craig and Bill Nighy) and Atonement. Saturday seems to be in preproduction as a film, and after reading it I can only agree that the kind, warm hearted lanky brain doctor in the story has to be played by Bill Nighy. Let’s hope these rumours stick. Oh, and yes that’s why I read the book. And it was actually pretty good too!

Now I am reading Eat, Pray, Love. I am not quite sure yet what to think of it, but the story: woman leaves everything (including divorcing the husband) behind to go travelling for a year to find herself – is something that I like.

The Girl in the Cafe on tour has added Finland and Austria to the list of countries to visit. She has just left Turkey on her way to the US. And should also be travelling in the Netherlands. More about this, including more reviews from participants, soon.

And the fact that I am in a reading at the moment is not that good for other things. I can’t read and write at the same time, and therefor the reading has to stop, pretty soon, as there is still a feature script waiting to be finished (can barely remember what it was about – no, just kidding!). And there is this short film to be made too. And a second feature story is already hammering in my head and waiting to come out too. I need to get back to the disciplined life of writing very soon.

So, how was your Easter?

… come on and let it snow …

My Eeaster was pretty good. I enjoy family gatherings…so it was a very pleasant Sunday for me. Keep up the script work. Blog will endure no matter the frequency of your entries.

Glad you are OK now. Snowed here too. My Easter was shite but nothing new there! Just got a ticket for Gods of Carnage with Ralph Fiennes and the lovely Ken Stott, are you going to see that one?

I’m going 3rd May. We ought to get our act together some time and go to the theatre on the same day!

I read the book Eat, Pray, Love some weeks ago and wasn´t really impressed by it. The story behind the book really interests me but the author didn´t really got it. Maybe you like it more.

I was dreaming of a White Easter and I got it. I closed the shop at Good Friday and did almost nothing till last tuesday. Just watched some Torchwood and Bionic Woman on the box.

Have your say
