I had a really weird experience at Train at the Teitur show when I brought my camera yesterday. Before the show I wrote a mail to both the management of the support act (Hush) and Teitur and asked for permisson to take photos. I never got an answer from the Teitur management, but Hush answered and said I was free to take pictures, so I decided to bring my camera.
Before the show I met a friend who also brought along his camera. He had asked the train crew in the ticket sales if he was allowed to take photos and was told he could take photos, but only use flash during the first 4 songs (most places doesn’t even allow flash) so everything seemed fine.
When Hush went on stage I started taking photos and after 3 or 4 songs I was approached by one of the gorilla types that demanded me to show my photopass or leave the venue immediately! He wouldn’t even allow me to pick up my photobag! Fortunately I did bring a print of the email from Hush. At first we wouldn’t allow me to reach for my bag to get the print but finally he did allow me to so. After he read the mail and I had to explain that the guy who wrote the mail as indeed the guitar player of Hush I was allowed to continue shooting but I was told never to take photos at Train again, unless I had a valid photopass. There was several other people taking photos and that didn’t seem to bother him.
Of course I didn’t even bother to attempt to take a single picture of Teitur…
This is definately the last time I’ll bring my camera to Train.
Hee I didn’t see you yesterday :-)
Did you like the concert ? I wrote that I found the concert a bit dull, because it nearly was a direct copy of the album.
But I have the same experience in Train they threat people very badly. I will never take my camera to Train anymore, either. The braindead gorrillas they have as security are just too much.
I much better like Voxhall, the atmosphere is so much better there, and the drinks are nearly half the price.
I remember we talked about the Teitur show at the Nephew show at Voxhall, so I also looked around for you, but didn’t spot you.
I was able to understand from the dutch text that you didn’t found the concert very interesting but I think I got carried away with my photo rant so I forgot to comment on that :)
I don’t own the record and only know Teitur from the radio, so I didn’t notice the similarity with the album. All in all it was a OK show – the audience was a bit hard (a lot of people talking during the songs). I like the boy-next-door attitude and the way he sings but it does shine through that he have a limited number of songs to choose from and have been playing a lot of jobs so it did lack some nerve. On the other hand I found the Kim Larsen jokes very funny.
I brought my camera, took pictures until after the 3th Teitur song, because imediately after that song one of the gorillas came to me and said not to take pictures anymore.
I enjoyed the concert, but it wasn’t as special as the one in holland about half a year ago; then there were only 70 or 80 people and is was really special and intimate.
