Entertainment weekly has published a list with 100 new classic movies, and it did not take long before that was turned into a meme. I could not not do this one, especially because there are so many movies I have seen on this list. So here we go, the bold ones I have seen. And feel free to copy!

Quite an impressive list. I had 39 out of 100. What a disgrace.
I have 63. That is kind of disappointing too, I though I had more!!
Classic movies? The oldest in the list is from 1983. It’s a list of good movies. There’s a difference. Where are the pictures like Metropolis and Casablanca? They’re both great and classic.
Some titles bring back memories though.
Oops. I didn’t read it quite well. It’s about NEW classics {blush}.
Pedro the list is a list of 100 NEW (The 100 best films from 1983 to 2008) Classic movies :) So no Casablanca and the like in this one! :)
56 and a half. I really didn’t see what the fuss about Crouching tiger, Hidden dragon was all about.
And it’s rather sad that I’ve seen most movies dated before 2000 and almost none since then. I’m a 31 year-old boring couchpotato…
No Spanish, French, German, Romanian, Danish, Indian , etc, etc, movie amoungst it.
Hey… 1 Chinese! “Crouching tiger, Hidden dragon”
I can not believe that the 100 new classic movies are only anglo-american.
Actually I refuse to believe that “(The 100 best films from 1983 to 2008)” are anglo-american.
Would you ask Indian or Chinese viewers they would probably score low on this list. Rather biased list. (grumble, grumble)
Now that you mention it, you are totally right! This list has been compiled by an American mainstream magazine though, which might explain the lack of European, Indian, Eastern films.
A closer look – there aren’t (m)any British films in it either! Where is Love Actually?? Four Weddings and a Funeral? Or other “classics” like: What’s Eating Gilbert Grape? Run Lola Run? Festen? Any of Tim Burton’s films?
Must be a mainstream blockbuster list.
45.
I’d like to point out that on the list at least All about My Mother, Breaking the Waves, and Y Tu Mamá También are not anglo-american.. But of course that’s still too few.
Even if it is just a blockbuster list, I’m surprised of the omission of films like Dances with Wolves, Braveheart, The Pianist, Platoon, Magnolia, Being John Malkovich, Forrest Gump, The Crying Game, Amadeus and so on. Strange.
20 of them. But I agree with Timo, it’s a pretty arbitrary list I think.
I’m so relieved I did manage to see most of your lists ;o)
